All the Girls Read Bay Weekly

Dear Bay Weekly:
Some years ago, Mavis Daly of Shady Side taught a personal history class at the South County Senior Citizen Center at Shady Side. We shared our childhood history and thus we bonded, so we’ve continued to meet socially ever since. Here, the Southern Anne Arundel History Class Club reads our favorite paper as we gather to celebrate Rose Connolly’s 80th birthday.

From left, Doris Phibbons, Harwood; instructor Mavis Daly, of Shady Side; Janie White; Grace Perkins, Shady Oaks; Ellen Sheets, Franklin Manor; Gloria Twomey, Silver Spring; and Rose Connolly, Edgewater.

—Janie White, Churchton

365 Days of Bay Weekly

Dear Bay Weekly:
What good pictures you used in your Year in Review [Vol. X, No 52, Dec. 26, 2002]!

I was delighted to receive it and the your new year’s greeting in the form of a calendar card. I’ve hung it by my desk, so I’ll think of you at Bay Weekly all year long.

—Ginny Lee, Springfield, Illinois

Bay Weekly Editorials Should Win a Prize

Dear Bay Weekly:
Every good wish to you and your staff for 2003.

Please tell your editorial writers that I droll with envy when I read your editorials. I wish I could write good, clear, elegant, persuasive pieces like those. We should nominate them for a prize.

—Sherwood Smith, Washington, D.C.
