So what’s an emoticon? You know, those little things people type at the end of an e-mail or letter that indicate their emotional state, like :) for happy or :( for sad. If you don’t think there are a gazillion emoticons, point your web browser to www.smileydictionary.com and click on the emoticon button. But they forgot to put Chesapeake Bay emoticons into the dictionary.

Let’s start with the Bay itself:

Kids ages 6-12 play detective at Calvert Library’s Super Sleuth Mystery Adventure. Dress as your favorite mystery character and join in fingerprinting fun. March 16
Everything Green

Pond and Stream Exploration
Kids of all ages search for and identify frogs, turtles, fish, tadpoles, dragonflies and other aquatic insects. Wear boots or shoes that can get wet; bring a change of clothes and towel. Big, Beautiful Tree

T’ai Chi for Tots
