Tawes Crab and Clam Bake
Pop a claw or shuck a shell at the 38th annual Tawes Crab and Clam Bake. This is not the feast for those with tiny appetites. Devour all the steamed crabs, fried fish, clams — steamed, fried or raw — corn on the cob, onion rings, French fries, sweet potato fries and soda you can, saving room for a juicy slice of watermelon to cap the afternoon. The feast honors former Gov. J. Millard Tawes, and during election years brings in bushels of politicians as well as seafood. Come early and get a free mug and mallet. Dress to be out in the sun. Noon-4pm at Somers Cove Marina Grounds, Crisfield. $40: 800-782-3913; www.crisfieldchamber.com.
