Maria Marino Artist Demonstration

Event Date:
August 16, 2018 - 5:00pm - 9:00pm

In honor of the 28th Annual Annapolis Art Walk, McBride Gallery is hosting 'Making Your 'Mark' featuring paintings by Maria Marino, opening Thursday, August 17th. Maria will also perform a painting demonstration from 5-9pm that evening. Her painting process is energetic and entertaining.

Inspired by Impressionist techniques, Maria Marino’s landscapes present a dialogue in color and light. Whether she is painting from Monet’s garden in Giverny or the Salt Marshes of the Chesapeake Bay Maria’s compositions come to life in a bold spectrum of tones. Her careful balance of abstraction and observation charge her pieces with a lively sense of freshness.

Maria Marino was born in Washington D.C. and now lives and works in a rural Maryland. Marino received her earliest encouragement from her mother, who fostered Marino’s love of drawing. In 1998, Marino competed her BFA in Interior Architecture from the Maryland Institute College of Art, after which she forged a successful career as an interior designer. She has since been recognized nationally in fine art publications and internationally in Italy, France and Taiwan. She was featured on the December 2016 cover of Pastel Journal magazine.
