Annapolis Chamber Music Festival - Echoes: Music for Voice and Solo Instruments

Event Date:
August 3, 2019 (All day)

Our Echoes concert explores the interplay of virtuosic solo instruments and the human voice. When the two team up, they can explore realms spoken and unspoken through words, music, and a vast variety of tones. Acclaimed Baltimore soprano Melissa Wimbish brings short works by Schubert, Vaughan-Williams, and Gounoud to life, then shares a special work by Jessica Meyer which Wimbish premiered in Carnegie Hall in 2016. The concert will conclude with an early masterpiece of lyric chamber music by Vaughan-Williams. Explore romance, lyricism and drama through a whirlwind of sweet sounds, calculated to refresh and energize the spirit!
