Talking Transportation

Speak up on what improvements our state roads need — sometimes desperately). Maryland Department of Transportation is seeking comment on the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, which includes state, regional and local plans.

What you’ll help decide is how to use federal funds over the next six-years in the state transportation budget. That means money for maintaining, operating and expanding highways, transit, bicycle and pedestrian projects. Planners have heard and incorporated one round of citizen comments. Between now and April 17 is time for your final comments as the plan moves to approval.

“Through this effort, all Marylanders will have input in developing and delivering a better transportation network across the state,” said MDOT Secretary Pete K. Rahn.
