Calvert Library’s Spring Pub Quiz
Thinking and drinking for trivia buffs
If you’re a trivia nut, now’s the time to claim a seat for you and your team of six on Friends of Calvert Library’s Spring Pub Quiz Friday, March 28.
“Participation is first-paid, first-served,” advises the library’s Robyn Truslow. “So come to any Calvert Library location and pay your stake so that your team will be ensured a spot in the competition.”
Soon as you’ve signed up, you’ll need to assemble your team. A good memory for trivia is a prime recruiting standard. You’ll also want age, but none below 21. And diversity, as the questions posed by Quizmaster JR Mathers, a library trustee, know no commonality. You’ll need to know pop music as well as Maryland history, cuisine as well as arcana.
Both thinking and drinking are part of the fun.
Questions are posed in rounds, with time for discussion — and drinking — before Quizmaster Mathers demands answers. Wine, beer and snacks are served. The price of refreshments, as well as the $60 per team registration fee, returns to you in the quality of library services.
Spectators and hecklers 21 and older are welcome, also in advance, at a fee of $5.
